FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
The primary difference is the fat concentration. Dry kibble typically contains a high percentage of animal fats, which are highly unsaturated and extremely prone to rapid oxidation (rancidity) upon exposure to even trace amounts of oxygen. Rancidity degrades essential nutrients (like vitamins A and E) and produces free radicals, making the food unsafe. Therefore, the Oxygen Permeation Rate (OPR) must be minimized to an extreme level (often below 0.1 cc/(m² day)) to guarantee the full nutritional shelf-life extension of the high-fat contents.
For heavy-duty Pet Food Packaging, the reinforced patch handle and the adhesive bond must survive a dynamic drop test and subsequent tensile testing. The handle system is stress-tested to exceed the weight of the filled bag by a minimum of 200%. This is done using a specialized testing rig that applies high-impact shear and tensile force to the handle's adhesion point, guaranteeing the structural integrity will not fail during aggressive handling or consumer use.
We manage the sustainability mandate by utilizing the transition to mono-material structures. This involves replacing the non-recyclable PET/Foil/PE laminate with a high-performance PE/PE laminate. The extreme barrier previously provided by the foil is achieved by integrating high-concentration EVOH or specialized barrier coatings (SiOx or AlOx) entirely within the PE structure. This makes the finished bag fully recyclable within the standard Polyethylene (PE) stream, drastically improving its end-of-life protocol.
